Caprese buns

Ingredients

  • 6 sandwich buns
  • 2 mozzarellas (200-250g)
  • 1-2 ripe tomatoes
  • Basil leaves or pesto genovese (green pesto)
  • Olive oil (optional)
  • Balsamic vinegar (optional)
  • Butter (optional)
  • Salt, pepper

Cooking Instructions

  • 1.Cut the buns in half.

  • 2.Drain mozzarella and cut into ½ cm thick slices. Cut tomato into slices.

  • 3.Butter the buns. Arrange mozzarella slices on one half of the bun.

  • 4.Add basil leaves (or green pesto) and drizzle with some olive oil and balsamic vinegar.

  • 5.Add tomato slices. Season to taste and close the buns.
